Licensing
Last updated 23 October 2026
Everything in your video is either made by me, supplied by you, or licensed for client use. You get a licence record with every delivery.
The licence record
For every project I log each music track, sound effect, stock clip, template and font: where it came from, the licence it uses and, where the licence requires it, the project it is registered to. You receive this record with your final files.
Music and stock
- I use stock libraries whose licences cover work made for clients, and I finish and deliver each project while my subscription is active, so your licence stays valid after I stop subscribing.
- If your video will be broadcast on TV, streaming or video-on-demand, tell me at the brief. Some library music is not licensed for broadcast, and I will choose assets that are.
- You may use the finished video as delivered. Individual tracks and clips can't be taken out and reused separately.
Fonts
- For files you will edit yourself, such as After Effects projects or templates, I use open-licence fonts (SIL Open Font License) and include each font's licence file.
- Fonts that can't be shared are used only in rendered video, where no separate licence is needed.
White-label work
When an agency resells my work, the licences pass through to the agency's client as part of the finished video. The licence record goes to the agency to pass on.
